Around the Studio-December 24′

Welcome, Azrans, to Our Monthly Studio Update!

At Azra Games, every step of creating Project Legends is a story worth sharing, and we’re thrilled to invite you behind the curtain. This series offers a closer look into the studio, spotlighting the incredible talent and effort that powers our game development. After all, who wouldn’t be curious about what really happens inside a game studio?

For our first update, we’ve gathered insights from an amazing lineup of team members across various disciplines. From crafting stunning 3D environments to engaging with our passionate community, fine-tuning immersive audio, and keeping our studio running like clockwork, everyone plays a vital role in bringing Project Legends to life. Here’s what they’ve been working on this month.

Lai Tran — Senior Environment Artist

Lai Tran — Senior Environment Artist

“Working on Project Legends’ environment 3D assets is all about bringing the world to life. This month, I’ve been focused on world vegetation/flora for specific in-game levels and points of interest. I am an avid gardener and using that real-world knowledge in vegetation and plant taxonomy really help push the believability and immersion — players are going to love exploring these spaces!”

As an environmental artist, my role is to help craft the immersive worlds that players explore, bringing the game’s vision to life through detailed and engaging environments. I collaborate with concept artists, designers, and project stake holders to translate ideas into 3D spaces, creating everything from sweeping landscapes to intricate interiors. Using tools like 3DS Max, Substance, and Unity Engine, I model assets, texture surfaces, and build materials that feel realistic or stylized to match the game’s tone. Beyond aesthetics, I work closely with level designers to ensure the environment enhances gameplay mechanics and player traversal while optimizing performance for smooth experiences. Lighting and atmospheric effects like fog or rain are crucial to setting the spatial depth and mood, and I frequently refine my work based on feedback from art directors and playtesters. Ultimately, my goal is to create spaces that not only look stunning but also tell stories, support gameplay, and immerse players in the worlds we build.

Cleveland Braswell— Office Manager

Cleveland Braswell — Office Manager

“As an office manager I strive to establish the platform for a creative space, ensuring every detail runs smoothly so our team can focus on crafting unforgettable gaming experiences.”

Azra HQ’s Main Meeting Room

I’ve been passionate about furnishing projects that transform our office into a dynamic, inspiring space that embodies the creative spirit of our game studio. I believe that a well-designed environment fosters collaboration, innovation, and a sense of belonging. By incorporating ergonomic workstations and communal areas that reflect our unique culture, the office becomes more than just a workspace — it becomes a catalyst for creativity.

David Nakatani — Community Manager

“Building a connection between our community and the game is my mission. Recently, I’ve been gathering feedback from our playtesters and community members to provide to our broader team. The passion from our Hopeful Holders & fans is inspiring, and I can’t wait to see how their input shapes Project Legends.”

In case you may have missed our first playtest’s conclusion, you can find the recap article here.

Currently I’m working on preparing future playtests for our community, when I can’t say just yet — but maintaining the bridge of communication between our testers and the team is high priority.

We are also preparing a larger overhaul of our Azra Games Discord, it’s been quite some time since we’ve given it a cosmetic update and broader QoL updates for our Azrans — it’s about time.

KT — Audio Design

Kenseth Thibideau — Audio Director

“Leading with audio” means collaborating with all departments of the team from early concept through to completion . That way we inspire each other sharing new ideas and guiding the development united as a whole”

My role at Azra is Audio Director which covers the spectrum of sound for the game . I create and implement all the sound design assets as well as compose the music for the game . I attempt to blur the lines between sound design and music creating an immersive layering system enhancing level exploration and combat experience.
